Lavender oil

Lavender essence is one of the most popular aromas, both among massage therapists and therapists and clients. Its delicate scent soothes the senses, helps with headaches, reduces accumulated tension and also relieves sore muscles. If you are suffering from a stiff back, lavender may be the right choice. It sets in motion the accumulated energy and allows it to flow optimally.

Black spruce

Aromatherapy in pregnancy – yes or no?

This question cannot be answered clearly in the affirmative or negative. Pregnant women should definitely avoid synthetic oils that contain harmful substances. Only 100% natural oils are acceptable, but even some of them can harm the foetus (induce premature birth). The following essential oils are forbidden in pregnancy:

  • Clary sage,
  • clary sage,
  • lemongrass,
  • spearmint,
  • gaulteria,
  • fennel,
  • rosemary,
  • cinnamon,
  • cloves,
  • myrrh,
  • juniper,
  • thyme.

Oils that do not pose a risk are the following:

  • marigold,
  • citrus.

Also keep in mind that essential oils should be completely avoided in the 1st trimester and used in small amounts in the next two trimesters. Several essential oils are also for internal use, but all are prohibited in pregnancy.
